Counseling Services

Telehealth Sessions

I am available and offer private video and telephone counseling sessions. I use a HIPAA-compliant video service.

In-person Sessions

In person sessions are limited to daylight hours only. Please reach out to find out my availability.

For more information about my counseling practice, please visit my counseling page.

Getting started

First 15-minute consultation is free. Call or send me an email through my contact page and we will set an appointment. In this appointment we will introduce ourselves and both assess if we are a good working match.

Fees and Payment procedures

BASIC FEES

My fee is $150 per 50-minute session. I collect fees through my online portal. I require that a card be kept on file, and I accept debit and credit cards.

First 30-minute consultation is free. For more information look at the section above called Getting Started and/or contact me.

ADDITIONAL TIME AND SERVICES

I charge $150 per hour, billed in quarter hours, for time spent performing any professional services, including counseling sessions, report writing, preparation of records, treatment summaries, attendance at meetings with other professionals that you have authorized, legal appearances for depositions, or emergency phone calls longer than 15 minutes. If you become involved in legal proceedings that require my involvement, you will be expected to pay for my professional time, including travel. You will be notified of fee raises in writing 60 days in advance.

SLIDING SCALE

A limited number of sliding-scale slots are available for clients’ attending sessions on a weekly basis. If we have agreed that I will see you at a sliding-scale rate, I will ask you to sign an agreement specifying that rate and the time period for which it is applicable.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

As per Oregon law, I will provide you with a good faith estimate before we begin our work together.

PAYMENT PROCESS

Payment is due at the time of service and will be automatically billed and processed the day of your appointment. The card is kept in a secure vaulted file.

APPOINTMENT CANCELLATIONS

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide me with 24 hours’ notice by email, text, or phone. If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the full session fee will be assessed. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to hold your session time exclusively for you.

INSURANCE

I am not a member of insurance panels but can give you an invoice to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement if they provide out-of-network coverage. Insurance providers may require that I add a mental health disorder diagnosis to your records. I will not give you a diagnosis without discussing it with you first. Insurance plans and benefits vary, and it is your responsibility to check with your provider regarding out-of-network benefits.

Policies

Your Responsibilities as a Client using Telehealth Services

It is your obligation to notify me as your counselor of your location at the beginning of each treatment session. If you change locations during the session, it is your obligation to notify me of the change in location.

You agree not to drive a vehicle while in a Telehealth session.

You are responsible to ensure the privacy of your location and you are aware that confidential information may be discussed. It is your obligation to notify me of any other persons in the location, either on or off camera, who can hear or see the session.

It is your obligation to ensure that any virtual assistant artificial intelligence devices, including but not limited to Siri, Alexa, or Echo, will be disabled or will not be in the location where the session can be heard.

You will not record audio or video of any of the sessions unless you notify me in advance, and this is agreed upon. If I determine it would be helpful to record our sessions, we will discuss it beforehand, and I will request your permission in writing and obtain your signed consent.

You understand that Telehealth counseling services are a professional service. You agree to attend sessions fully dressed and that you will not drink alcoholic beverages or non-prescribed mind-altering substances during our counseling sessions.
